Director's Message
I'm excited to be the Director for Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug's (KI) Lands and Environment Unit, even in
the middle of irresolution with (and against) the governments and extracting industries!
My staff and I have been in a forefront in dealing with various ministries and departments of both provincial
and federal governments as well as with different CEOs and presidents of extracting companies. All of this dealing has to
do with our KI lands and resources matters that are at the critical stage of complete domination by the outside governments
and industries.
Our Lands and Environment Unit will continue to reflect and reinforce our relationship with the natural world
so that our lands and resources, for example will remain to be in balance as was first created by Keeshaymanitou. Our Elders
particularly, have taught us to pursue complete reverence to the creation of the world, and one alteration of natural world
will encompass eventual destruction of the land and people. Our work here will continue to promote the preservation and protection
of KI Homelands completely.
Our antagonists will have to respect our position of complete reverence to our natural world
and that their destructive ways of executions must stop! Meegwetch.
Neen
